About the role
What you'll do
Alpaca provides brokerage APIs for stocks, options and crypto to hundreds of financial institutions. On the market data team you will design and run the latency-sensitive services behind its streaming and historical data APIs, shape the architecture, review code and help troubleshoot incidents, with occasional on-call duty.
Requirements
- 4+ years building systems at scale
- Experience with a compiled language such as Go, C++ or Rust (most services are in Go)
- SQL skills and familiarity with TCP/IP and UDP networking
- Strong Linux and shell scripting skills; Kubernetes and GCP experience
- A record of leading medium-sized, multi-team projects
