About the role
What you'll do
Hire Hangar is placing a technical accountant with a growing US finance team that reports to US-based leadership. You will own lease accounting under ASC 842, support 409A valuations, book stock-based compensation under ASC 718, run month-end and year-end close, write technical accounting memos, and be the auditors' main contact for leases and equity.
Requirements
- 5+ years in accounting, including 2+ years under US GAAP
- Hands-on ASC 842 experience is mandatory
- Exposure to 409A valuations or ASC 718
- Big Four or large-firm background, or experience at a US startup
- Advanced English (C1+), strong Excel skills and an ERP such as NetSuite
Remote contract. In Africa, you can be based in South Africa (Johannesburg or Cape Town) or Egypt (Cairo). Your hours need to overlap substantially with US Eastern to Pacific business hours.
