About the role
What you'll do
Oyster, the global employment platform, wants a senior data engineer to build the data foundations behind its internal AI platform. You'll create the pipelines, retrieval and embedding workflows, and reusable services that give LLM applications and agents secure access to company data on AWS and Snowflake.
Requirements
- Strong data engineering background covering modeling, quality, lineage and governance
- Experience with RAG, embeddings, vector search or agent tool-calling patterns
- Comfort building reusable libraries, services and developer tooling
- Hands-on with AWS and Snowflake
- Ability to partner with engineering, product and IT teams
Fully remote. Listed locations include Kenya and South Africa, and you must be based within UTC-6 to UTC+3. Oyster offers 40 days off per year.
