About the role
What you'll do
Wave, the mobile money company working to make Africa cashless, is hiring a Data Scientist. You will build credit scoring and fraud models, optimise field operations and agent networks, design A/B tests for user promotions, and work closely with product and operations teams from scoping a problem to presenting the results.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field; a master's or PhD is a plus
- 5+ years in data science, machine learning or technical analytics
- Deep Python and SQL skills plus data visualisation
- Experience with causal inference, statistical modelling or experimentation
- Fluent English; French is a plus
Fully remote; among African countries, candidates in Kenya and Ghana (plus Wave's operating markets such as Senegal and Côte d'Ivoire) are eligible. Expect at least one trip a year to an operating market. Salary depends on level and location.
