About the role
What you'll do
Moniepoint, Africa's large payments and banking platform, is hiring a principal engineer for its R&D team. You'll take loosely defined problems all the way to running production systems, working across services, infrastructure, data pipelines and, where it truly helps, machine learning models you train, deploy and monitor.
Requirements
- Strong computer science fundamentals plus solid probability and statistics
- Track record building and running production systems at scale
- Comfort moving between Go, Java, Python, Rust and SQL
- Experience with Linux, containers and Kubernetes, and deep debugging skills
- Good judgement on when ML is (and isn't) the right tool
