About the role
What you'll do
Automattic is hiring a senior systems engineer to run the large hosting infrastructure behind WordPress.com and its other products. You'll keep services up and fast across multiple data centers, automate operations, respond to incidents, protect data integrity and backups, and unblock developers who need help shipping.
Requirements
- Experience running large Nginx deployments with advanced routing and load balancing
- Experience operating very large MySQL/MariaDB fleets
- Ability to debug PHP applications at scale
- Solid knowledge of Linux internals, networking and filesystems
- Willingness to travel 2-3 weeks a year for team meetups
