About the role
What you'll do
Mercor keeps a standing talent pool of software engineers for frontier AI lab projects. Matched engineers write realistic engineering problems with reference answers, grade model-written code for edge cases and test quality, and flag code that would pass review yet fail in production.
Requirements
- Professional experience shipping production software
- Depth in frontend, backend, mobile, DevOps, QA or security
- Clear written reasoning about technical trade-offs
- Comfort with ambiguous tasks and flagging unclear instructions
- Pass a roughly 20-minute AI interview
Remote and open worldwide with no location limits stated. Joining the pool is not a guaranteed project; past projects paid $70 to $150 per hour, and hours are flexible.
