About the role
What you'll do
Canonical, the company behind Ubuntu, has more than 1,200 staff across 75+ countries and needs a payroll leader to scale how it pays them. Reporting to the Global Financial Controller, you will oversee payroll across many countries, approve each run, strengthen controls, handle payroll audits, track legislative changes, manage vendors, and lead a team of payroll specialists.
Requirements
- Significant experience running multi-country or global payroll
- Strong knowledge of payroll compliance, tax and internal controls
- Experience managing payroll audits
- Wants to automate processes and use systems and AI to improve them
- A degree in accounting or finance, or a compelling alternative path
Home-based anywhere in EMEA time zones, which includes Africa, with an optional London office.
