About the role
What you'll do
Supabase is hiring a software engineer for its AI Tooling team, which runs the backend services behind the Supabase MCP server, agent skills and the dashboard assistant. You'll deploy, scale and monitor these services, own authentication and permissions for agent clients, and set rate limits and reliability targets for heavy machine traffic. The team carries its own on-call rotation and support queue.
Requirements
- 5+ years building and running backend services in production
- Solid grounding in authentication, authorization and scoped tokens (OAuth)
- Hands-on observability work: metrics, traces, logs and alerting
- Comfortable leading incident response and writing runbooks
- Bonus: experience serving traffic from AI agents or LLM clients
Fully remote and open worldwide, including all African countries; Supabase hires globally and works asynchronously.
