About the role
What you'll do
Invisible Technologies, through its Meridial hiring board, is looking for Afrikaans language specialists to train and test large language models. You'll converse with models on grammar, sentence structure, register and regional varieties, check answers for accuracy and sound logic, record reproducible error cases, and suggest improvements to prompts and evaluation metrics.
Requirements
- Expert command of Afrikaans grammar, morphology, spelling and pragmatics
- A master's or PhD in Afrikaans, linguistics or a related field is ideal
- Teaching, publications or hands-on linguistic analysis are a plus
- Clear writing that shows your reasoning step by step
- Your own secure computer and fast internet connection
Freelance remote contract for people based in South Africa; the hourly rate is set by experience, expertise and location.
