Your first 30 days: the checklist.

0 / 8Why the first month matters
Remotely, nobody sees you working. How your team sees you is built from what you write, what you ship and how predictable you are, and the first month sets the pattern.
The shape of the month
- Week 1: get set up, read everything, meet the people you will work with most.
- Week 2: finish one small task end to end so you learn how work moves.
- Week 3: start a weekly written update and make your work visible.
- Week 4: check in with your manager on what is going well and what to change.
The day-one message
Post a short hello in your team channel on day one: who you are, where you are, your hours in UTC, what you are working on this week, and one question inviting help. It is the single most useful thing you can do in your first week.
Keep your evenings
Remote work can quietly spread into every hour. Agree on your core hours in writing, and protect the time outside them.
The full plan is in your first 30 days in a remote team.
