About the Supply Chain Manager Role

Job Description:

Your role as the Supply Chain Manager will consist of three components, which are expected to take an equal amount of time: (a) Project Management; (b) Importation; and (c) Procurement:


Project Management

  1. Work closely with the Development, Engineering and Construction teams to analyze various procurement options for projects and assure Supply Chain activities are performed consistent with established schedules and budgets.
  2. Support preparation of the project budget and schedule prior to commencement of a project. In addition to understanding company obligations under the project contract and documentation.
  3. Lead the logistics activities during project execution to ensure all equipment arrives on time and within budget
  4.  Identify potential supply chain failures as part of the planning process and mitigate associated risks.


Importation

  1. Prepare and submit customs documents required to facilitate the clearing of imported cargo and vetting of assessment draft for custom duty payment
  2. Communicate with clearing agents to ensure follow up and speedy clearance of cargo
  3. Preparation of necessary documentation for processing of Pre-Arrival Assessment Report (PAAR) and communicate with the team on the delivery schedule, estimated time of arrival and expected time of delivery
  4. Processing and reconciliation of clearing agents’ Invoices and payment of Import duties for all shipments
  5. Preparation of landed cost for shipments and collection/submission of Foreign Exchange Control Documents (FECD)
  6. Follow up with Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON) to obtain necessary Import Permits and support the activation of Product Certificate on their platform


Procurement

  1. Lead procurement, sourcing and logistics for the development and maintenance of solar and storage sites and projects across Africa.
  2. Drive value-creating procurement solutions.
  3. Develop and maintain contacts and relationships with major equipment manufacturers and suppliers, and major contractors providing services to the renewable energy industry.
  4. Develop and maintain good relationships with vendors, distributors, and services providers; identify and lead appropriate field operations resources to execute initiatives and manage supplier relationships
  5. Identify potential supply chain failures as part of the planning process and mitigate associated risks.
  6. Develop and execute a warehouse strategy to strategically store equipment ensuring 99% uptime of all our sites.
  7. Manage warehouse inventory and keep records of the inventory.

 

 

Qualifications/Requirements.

  1. Electrical or Mechanical Engineering degree
  2. Master’s in Supply Chain Management or MBA
  3. Ability to travel and be on-site for up to 90 days at a time
  4. Proven record of clear written and verbal communication skills
  5. Valid driver’s license, international passport and ability to travel locally and internationally
  6. Proficiency using Word, Excel, and Microsoft Project
  7. Strong working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Management systems, internal processes, documentation management
  8. French-speaking a plus
